How does it feel to be twenty-nine? :)
So, yesterday turned out to be one of the better days of my life. To be honest, I really wasn't expecting to much, especially at work. Last year, barely anyone even remembered my birthday. This year, I was given balloons, a PA announcement, nearly everyone I walked by mentioning it in some way. And, the topper, was my manager singing Happy Birthday to me, over the PA in the middle of the day. Nothing else, including the announcement that was done earlier in the day, made me go red. Him singing, did. (All though, that might just be because he also pointed out what register I was checking out in. Heh.)
I was also told yesterday, that the company was going over everyone's jobs again. Kinda re-assessing them. (As it was explained to me, if they thought you were doing more work, and were not getting paid the level you should, then they'd raise your pay level.) So, I went from a level 3 to a level 4. Not exactly sure what the pay jump will be, seeing as I was told anywhere from 20cents to 60. But still, I'll take anything. This shall be the second of three raises I'll be getting this year, the third will be my yearly. Really couldn't have happened at a better time, with me going on vacation next month. Extra money!
Sooo, last night I come home, found my DVD waiting for me. (Mom's gift to me was the Bucket List. A movie I've been dying to see.) And yet another balloon, my room seriously now looks like there was a party in it all day yesterday. Sadly nearly all of the balloons are now drooping. Damn hot weather. Buuut, back to last night. On the way home from work, Mom asked me where I wanted to go to dinner. Yet another surprise, it's kinda a tradition for the two people in the house to take the 'birthday person' to dinner. Anywhere they want to go. The surprise came due to the fact that I've already been taking out. (And if you count the dinner my Aunt made, that'd be twice.) But she insisted, so I said Red Robin. I absolutely love that place, but so rarely get to go there.
Anyhow, after dinner, our waiter and a bunch of other servers came out to sing Happy Birthday. Wasn't to embarrassed at that, since I was there when my mother told them it was my birthday. After they sang though, my waiter grabbed my hand and pulled me up to dance with them as they did another chours. And, that would be where I turned BRIGHT red. I'd seen them sing to two other people, but I was the only one that was pulled up to dance. The guy was amazingly hot. And yes, Lilli. I still insist that I wanted to bring him home. Darn guy was already engaged though. >.< I always seem to have the worst luck in finding people.
But, yes. That was my day, outside of my present from my Aunt not arriving when it was supposed to. (She got me these neat Egyption items. My absolute weakness.) Yesterday was a great day. Who said turning twenty-nine was bad?
rainingsideways, I hope you had a great birthday yesterday to hon. :)
Critter wise? The MBP!Boy is still giving me a HUGE freaking headache. Something I'm going to post about sometime this weekend. At first, I was happy to take him back, right now though.. it's driving me freakin nuts.
All of the other kids' are all itching to update. (If I can, I may do a SOTC address or something later. It's been a while since I've done one.)
If your reading, YES. I do really, REALLY want to keep that pairing. Your boy will have a comment posted soon.
:\ Time goes far to quickly. Should be getting ready for work right about now.
Thank you again for all of the birthday wishes!
